BALIA OS is operated by sending commands to your agents from the terminal or OpenGoat UI.
But for beginners, this can be the first hurdle.
Common problem: You launch OpenClaw and send a command — an error comes back. → You copy the error message and paste it into your chat AI → You get a suggested fix → You go back to VS Code, manually open the file, fix it yourself, and run it again → Another error appears...
The back-and-forth between your chat AI and VS Code doesn't change. But VS Code + Claude Code eliminates the "fix it yourself" part.

The biggest benefit of VS Code + Claude Code: The moment an error occurs, Claude Code reads the cause right there in the same terminal window and automatically fixes the file. No more copying a suggested fix and manually applying it yourself. OpenClaw commands, error fixes, and file edits — all handled inside VS Code.
Recommended: Dual monitors
- One monitor: VS Code (with Claude Code running)
- Other monitor: Your chat AI (Claude / ChatGPT / Gemini, etc.)

BALIA OS recommends the hybrid setup. Use your chat AI for strategy, VS Code + Claude Code for execution. This combination is the fastest path to getting up and running — even for beginners.

⚠️ How to Use AI Without Getting Lost: Managing Chat Sessions
AI chat tools have a memory limit called a context window. As your conversation grows longer, the AI starts to lose track of earlier details — and when it makes a mistake, it often doubles down on that mistake instead of catching it.
Signs you need to start a new chat:
- The AI contradicts something it said earlier
- Steps start skipping or repeating
- The AI seems confused about your folder structure or agent names
- You've exchanged more than 20 messages in the same chat
Starting fresh isn't a failure — it's how you keep the AI sharp and accurate.
How to Hand Off to a New Chat
Before closing your current chat, paste this prompt to generate a handoff document:

🔐 Authentication & Device Limit
Each BALIA OS license activates on one device. Reinstalling or moving to a new machine requires your original license key.
Your agents authenticate via API tokens stored in your local .env file — not via a cloud account. Nothing leaves your machine except the API calls your agents make to their assigned AI providers.
Keep a secure backup of your .env file alongside your license key.
What You Get
When you set up BALIA OS, you get a team of AI agents. Each one has a defined name, role, and personality — chosen by you at setup. They share memory, coordinate autonomously, and meet every night to plan the next day.
Your team handles what you point them at. You don't manage them. They manage themselves.

Every name in every slot is yours to define. A trader builds a different team than a YouTuber — using the exact same OS.
How It Works
BALIA OS runs on OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent framework. Each agent operates as a persistent session with its own identity, memory, and role boundaries.
Three things make it different from a chatbot:
1. Persistent Identity Your agents remember who they are and what they're working on — across sessions, across days. They don't reset. They don't forget.
2. Shared Memory What one agent learns, the rest can access. Research flows to Finance. Finance informs Operations. The whole team stays aligned automatically.
